"Current Trends in Drug Abuse"

Rick Rayl, R.Ph

Rick Rayl is the Director of Pharmacy at University Behavioral Health of Denton. Rick will discuss the current trends in drug abuse. He will highlight the popular vaping debate.

Have electronic cigarettes and vaping devices replaced cigarettes as the public health nuisance of our time? According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, the number of high school seniors who vaped in the past 12 months increased to 37% and trending up from previous year.

Online sellers marketing strategies have intensified as well, attracting more local and federal regulation. Will the FDA crackdown help reduce teen vaping rates, or simply make them more alluring?

Join us in the discussion of the newest drug abuse trends of 2019.
